Pick up and drop off at Cabrillo

Students can either be dropped off from your vehicle in a valet-style drive-through, or you can walk up with your student to our walker stations at our entrances. All cars enter our parking lot from the far east parking lot entrance on 135th St. Kindergarten/TK students can be dropped off at the gate in front of the kindergarten quad. 1st and 2nd grade students are dropped off in front of the main Cabrillo entrance. Staff members will be present at the curb to open your vehicle door. Please assist your child with unbuckling their safety seat, and be ready to attest that you have completed the health screening for that day. Parents and caregivers are not permitted on campus. Please respect our "Cubs Only Zones" to help keep our gates free of congestion.

At pick-up time, you may also drive through the valet or walk up, just as at arrival time. Teachers will bring students out to the gate. Kindergarten/TK students dismiss from the kindergarten quad, and 1st/2nd graders dismiss from the main entrance. An exception to this is for 2nd graders on shortened days (please see below).

Please adhere to the scheduled arrival window and dismissal time each day.  We seek your cooperation, as we cannot provide sufficient adult supervision beyond the school day. The office cannot supervise children who arrive early or stay late. If you arrive late picking up your child, you must come into the office to sign him/her out. (Thank you for understanding that our office staff cannot provide child care services.)

Every Wednesday and any shortened or minimum day schedule throughout the school year, all Second Grade students will be dismissed at the 134th Street gate.

Since 134th Street is a narrow and residential street, please be aware of the traffic flow and be respectful of the residents" properties. Please observe the following procedures:

  • Obey traffic rules: Do not double-park, block driveways, and make u-turns in the street or speed.
  • The curb is a "loading-unloading" zone only.  Pull up to pick-up your child; the child should be able to open the door, get into the seat and strap themselves in.
  • Do not get out of your car in the "loading-unloading" zone.
  • Do not park in the handicapped space at the corner of 134th and Delafield.
  • Do not allow your children to run or walk on the residents' property.
  • Pick up any trash that you or your children have generated.
Keep the noise to a minimum.
